Bull VS Bear
240 x 77 - Mixed Media On Canvas, 2021
Representing consumer confidence in the U.S. stock market, the bull and bear symbolize the market’s highs and lows since the 19th century, when famed cartoonist Thomas Nast famously drew them into existence. (A bear attacks in a downward motion. When the market is trending downward for an extended period, it is known as a bear market. A bull attacks in an upward position using its horns to gore and drive in an upward motion.) The Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business have prepared students since 1922 to face adversity and contribute to their communities. Our students have witnessed (and participated in) the Great Depression, World War 2, The Post-War Economic Expansion, the Space Age, and the Internet Age. We stand ready to continue training leaders to meet the challenges of the future.
